One of the most common questions we get is also one of the most important: “What size dumpster do I need?” Pick one that’s too small and you’re paying for a second haul. Too big and you’re paying for air. Here’s how to get it right the first time.
The 10-Yard Dumpster
Our 10-yard roll-off holds about 10 cubic yards of debris — roughly three to four pickup truck loads. It has a 2.5-ton weight limit and includes a 7-day rental. It’s the right call for:
- Single-room cleanouts or decluttering a garage
- Small bathroom or kitchen remodels
- Roofing tear-offs up to about 1,500 sq ft
- Yard waste and landscaping debris
- Concrete, dirt, or other heavy material (heavy debris fills a small box fast)
The 20-Yard Dumpster
Our 20-yard roll-off is the workhorse and our most popular size. It holds about six to eight pickup loads, has a 3-ton weight limit, and also includes a 7-day rental. Reach for it when you’re tackling:
- Whole-home cleanouts or estate cleanouts
- Larger remodels and renovations
- New construction and demolition debris
- Big roofing jobs
- Flooring removal across multiple rooms
When you’re genuinely torn between two sizes, size up. It almost always costs less than ordering a second dumpster later.
A Quick Word on Weight
Volume isn’t the only thing that matters — weight does too. Heavy materials like concrete, brick, tile, and dirt add up quickly and can hit the weight limit long before the box looks full. If your project is heavy, mention it when you book and we’ll point you to the right option.
